Re: Mathmap (gimp2.6)

Operating system ? I am assuming Windows but if you are a Linux user, that is the OS I normally use, just ask, I have a new build mathmap 64 bit plugin that works ok. For Windows see this post http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4558&start=30#p231005 To save trying to find all the old 32 bit dep...

Re: Set Render/Pattern/Sinus Permanently to FG and BG Colors

Assuming you have a Windows 64 bit operating system (always dangerous assuming anything ;) ) Unzip the attachment, put sinus.exe in your User plugins folder. GEGL filters have a (G) icon in the menus, separate plugins have the 'wheels' icon. That means you have a choice which to use. https://i.imgur...

Re: Set Render/Pattern/Sinus Permanently to FG and BG Colors

No replies? Your wish is not possible, at least not without altering the Gimp source code. That other post is about a python script. So that is editable. The current Gimp 2.10.x sinus is a GEGL function, not editable. While the Gimp 2.10 GEGL functions are annoying in that settings are not retained ...

Re: Placing objects by coordinates?

Do you have to rename the folder at all into something else? Is this about the plugin? No need to rename anything. Using Windows? Open the zip file by clicking on it. Move the file paste-xy.py to C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins Not able to find Appdata? It is a hidden folder ...

Re: Placing objects by coordinates?

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to place an object at specified coordinates? I would like something more precise than eyeballing it. First, Gimp does not use objects, that term is usually for vector applications such as Inkscape. Gimp does use layers and selected pixels that can be moved. Then...

Re: How do I crop bottom layer around top layer? - SOLVED

...When I tried it by selecting the outside of the frame, I got a 1-pixel remnant of the photo around the outside of the frame and couldn't figure out how to get rid of it.
That often happens when selecting a background for example, the common solution is grow the selection by a pixel or two.

Re: How do I crop bottom layer around top layer?

...I positioned the frame over the photo, and now I want to crop the photo around the outside of the frame (while keeping the frame itself). The frame is not completely rectangular (it has a "ripped paper" edge), so I can't simply crop the photo to the dimensions of the frame.... Something like thi...

Re: BIMP Drop Shadow problems

BIMP has a list of restricted terms, which is why many procedures do not appear under other Gimp procedure. Then of course no GEGL functions. For resizing canvas etc, better to write your script and call that from BIMP. I am not that clever, so there is often a work-around with what is available. I ...

Re: fp/ plastic-wrap-all-layers

You got the script from here: https://gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php?t=1448 ?? Already been run through tin's automatic fixer by the looks of things. Anyway, changed a couple of lines and as-far-as-I-know will work with Gimp 2.10.14 (not too sure about Windows Gimp 2.10.18) Similar to before, the scrip...

Re: Shiny- Painting

A check on what is there on gimp.org and Windows Gimp 2.10.18 has been updated to Gimp 2.10.18 rev 1. (7 March 20) That seems to fix the selection problem and bump-map is backward compatible but not plasma. You still need that one. Probably worth updating if you use an older Windows Gimp. shiny-ligh...
