Re: David Luminosity Masks

I've been at it again!!! I have modified david1_lum_mask.py to produce a usable set of masks for low-contrast images. I did this by equalizing the layer which is used to produce the masks. This layer is afterwards deleted. It appears, on a quick try, to have no negative affects on pictures of normal...

Re: Script to produce B&W image with a colour cast

Steve,
I am glad the script is of use to you.
You have achieved an excellent result - much greater impression of cold and the snow has added sparkle.

Re: My photo album

I couldn't resist playing with a photograph of Issabella's that she used to try my colour-cast script. I used my David1 Luminosity masks script and put a new layer in overlay mode, 30% opacity, colour FFA200, over the DD Layer. (I know that Issabella likes autumn colours!!!) Here are the before and ...

Re: Script to produce B&W image with a colour cast

Issabella,

A beautiful photograph and great results. The blue cast is very good, but I particularly like the effect on the sky and the trees in the second one.

Re: Just upgraded phpbb for speed improvement.

tim,

Glad you are getting it sorted - you have taken on a huge job with your upgrade.
I am sure we all appreciate your hard work.
The site now loads very much faster.

Re: Script to produce B&W image with a colour cast

Issabella,

Looking at your images - did you select a foreground colour before running the script? Because both your photographs are totally black and white.

Using the selected colour I get this result. (This is before any adjustment to the opacity of the layers.)

Re: Script to produce B&W image with a colour cast

Steve Reid,

Thanks for your comments - you spotted my mistake!!!

Script has now been amended in first entry of thread (above) to permit colouring of greyscale images.

Script to produce B&W image with a colour cast

After Tim's writing of my luminosity script, I decided to attempt a script of my own. Having selected a foreground colour in GIMP, running the script produces a black and white image with an overlay of the foreground colour (which does not colour true blacks or whites, only the grey tones) and an ov...

Re: Change Luminosity Mask Script

Krikor, Thank you for your kind words. I perhaps did not explain clearly the idea I wished to achieve. Your comment about the lack of an "M" - I have split the original M into an MD and ML because it was rather broad. However, both have their peak in the centre, but one decays more rapidly towards t...

Re: Change Luminosity Mask Script

Krikor, Yes, Christmas has come early! Thanks to Tim's clear code it was easy to modify his script. I have checked the spectra for all the channels and they are all different. They can, of course, be made more selective by adjusting the masks with Colours/Curves. I await feedback from others as to h...
