I think the most popular is 7zip. Some users and places upload files as .rar and I use 7zip also for those files.

Here is an alternative, PeaZip. I have used the linux version, mostly for unpacking 'unusual' archive formats for a few years.

It is mainly for Windows and the full package (7.5 MB) is here: www.peazip.org but if all needed is an extractor then go for http://www.peazip.org/peaextractor-unac ... unzip.html (4.5 MB)

Very much drag-n-drop looks like this https://i.imgur.com/7fOo9UN.jpg

Never heard of PeaZip before.
Downloaded it.

Tried right clicking on a file (In Window Explorer) and PeaZip option is there (so that's friendly).
Tried zipping it.
Then double clicking the .zip and extract.

Sweet program.

I prefer 7zip over the windows built in compression, ease of use with an option to unextract into the current folders, and a higher amount of compression. Haven't tried peazip yet.
