Quick update if it helps Pat, just installed latest G'MIC QT 32bit no probs, put in my plug-in folder and went to Edit>Preferences...etc Runs alongside 1.7.9
RJKD, do I have to remove the earlier version of G'Mic or does G'MIC QT overwrite it?

Do nothing. Just install the new one and they both run. I put the unzipped G'MIC folder into my 'me' Gimp directory - plug-ins. Then with Gimp open Edit-Preferences, locate the new G'MIc folder in the Plug-in file, choose. Close and re-open Gimp.

Ella, when I tried to have both versions of G'MIC in the same plugins folder, it worked a few times and then only once in awhile. I had to undo what I did and then follow the method that Rich2005 gave me. He gives great instructions with screenshots so he is very easy to follow. This is on GIMP-Forum.net. The link below takes you to the thread where he answered this for me. It is the second issue discussed, so just scroll down.
