Adding subtitles/captions to video using OpenShot

I saw a video that showed how to add subtitles to video using OpenShot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNSf7CMFFWY).
  1. Create a subtitle by clicking on Title menu
  2. Select a title template (footer 1 for example), then change the text, then click save
  3. It'll show under "Show All" or "Image" (Under project files).
  4. Drag it (the thumbnail of the new title) onto a track on timeline.
  5. Adjust location by drag it along the track. Or drag its start/end to adjust its start/end time.
  6. Repeat above steps for more subtitles/captions.
The above steps are decent enough, but the templates that come (by default) are not ideal for subtitles.
Most of the time, I would want 2 lines of text to show for subtitles.

So I looked up how to create template for title and it's easy enough. All I had to do was create an .svg file and put it in
my user's .openshot-qt/title/ folder and when I go to select title template, it's shown there.
So that's what I did, plus I wanted to draw a rectangle at bottom screen for the text to stand out on top too so I did that.
You can download my .svg title templates below if you wish (so that you can easily use them too).

The next time I try to tag a video, I'll have to review this video. I don't know if I understood it very well, because it seems a little too hard to have to manually put each line of the caption, depending on the video can be more than hundreds of lines.
Thank you Tim, always nice to have other options.

I used to do it in Windows Movie Maker and this method is little more work like an extra click to edit the text and an extra save (if I remember Windows Movie Maker correctly) but editing the length to show is easier in OpenShot (I think).
