Peace, yes if only.

Heard from my son at the monastery yesterday and he has just completed a week's meditation retreat in the forest.

So given that Pat has brought up the gestures aspect in the post above I thought I would do one too. Interesting that a certain prominent politician uses this gesture continually when speaking in public

34 degrees here today - unable to move...awe struck at some art work I found when doing some Buddha research...

Green Tara the Bodhisattva of compassionate action who manifests in female form. Tara's name is said to derive from the verb meaning "to cross" or "to traverse". In Tibetan Tara is Drolma which means "She Who Saves".
Now I really am inspired.

Image of Kwan Yin. Often referred to as the female Buddha, Compassionate Goddess, "The one who hears the cries of the world".

Pat I think the one you posted is of Gautama buddha (our historical buddha) not Kwan Yin.

My late grandmother used to go the park to recite/chant Kwan Yin's name for years praying to her even during Canadian winters wishing the sponsorship paper would go smoothly for my uncle, my mom and I to come to Canada. And after years, they rejected us once, they picked up the paper again and let us come to Canada.

I'll take your word for it, Tin. That is the photo that was with the information regarding Kwan Yin. It very easily could be the wrong photo as easy to mix them.
