There's not a lot to this filter but useful if you need it. It applies a range of hues to the characters in a custom font file using the colorizer plug-in to add variety to the custom font.

The dialog just about says it all. Choose the colour groups by setting the jitter value (50 is probably a good starting place) to non-zero. If you leave all the values at zero the filter will use all the colour groups.

The jitter value selects a colour based on the middle hue for each group. The smaller the jitter value, the smaller the chance of obtaining a hue that differs greatly from the middle of that colour.

You can also set the lightness and saturation values - or use a randomly selected value.

I think that the plug-in works best when applied to custom fonts with interesting textures like the example below:

I applied just the red jitter:

The variety of tones can be seen more clearly across the character set:
