This update adds a new 3D style and provides more dialog options to modify the 3D effect.

Download the plug-in and add it to your user plug-in folder. Load up a custom font and run the filter from:

Filters>>Custom Font Tools>>Faux 3D v0.02...

The new style gives a slightly more perspective look to characters compared to the original style. The example below shows the normal version of a character with the style 2 version and the style 1 version below (development version dialog in the screenshot).

Style 2 compass directions applied with the same custom font (original in the centre):

The appearance of the 3D effect varies greatly and depends largley on the original character face; I have added options to give more user control over blur and scaling and the type of mode to apply layers with.

Some example custom fonts created with the new version:

Hi Skinnyhouse,

After downloading the new version of the plugin today (V0.02) and trying to test it, I only find version V0.01 when I try to activate the plugin. :fb_wow:

I've restarted the Gimp twice, but I still find version V0.01 only. :crysmiley:

The strange thing is that I deleted version V0.01 and it shouldn't be accessible anymore. :?

Any clues as to what might be going on? :?:

Thx! ;)

Edited:

After restarting the Gimp 4 times and still showing only version V0.01:
  • I checked the path in Edit - Preferences - Folders; OK
  • Deleted version V0.02 (theoretically I ran out of plugin);
But when I restarted the Gimp for the fifth time... the version was not only present but still running smoothly! Even though I don't have the plugin in any folder!

I will restart Win....

Edit 02...

It's working fine now!
