Here's an elf I created from an old clip art image that I liked.

Pegleg44, Congrats for your creation. I think it is amazing. I like colours and the volume you get in it. :gimp_clap: :golden_wilber:

I'm wondering what you mean by how I have my graphics set up with my machine. Let me know.
What I do is make greyscale images and then for this one I added some color with the airbrush. I could tell you how I do that.

Re; your post Nov 30th 2016 - "Yes I do the height maps and I also use zbrush and have gimp set up as the zaplink program. which enables me to go back and forth with the press of a button. So I zap over to gimp, draw some height map stuff, zap back to zbrush, turn the stuff into a mask and puff it up into a 3D mesh."
I run Win7 32 bit Gimp 2.8, would I be able to set myself in the same or similar way?

Hi RJKD
I didn't use zbrush for that. I used gimp to draw in greyscale and then used a lot of blending and airbrush. And then airbrushed on a layer over it to give it colorl Here's a video I made a long time ago that explains how I make height maps.
