Fill Selection With Brush? [SOLVED]

Post#1 by Wallace » 23 Oct 2016, 18:26

I'm looking to fill a selection, of many objects.
By using a brush and also have the brush fill emulate the selected brush setting and dynamics.

Is there a way to do this?

I don't have an answer.
But I'll look into animated brush since i have never created an animated brush before.

Fill Selection with Brush? I don't know if there is a way. If there was a way I wonder if you have specify more than one spacing. since it's 2 dimension now instead of something like stroke path which is 1 dimension.

EDIT: The closest i can think of is to use ofnuts' seamless helper script to create a seamless pattern then pattern fill.

I made an animated brush and want to use it to fill in a selection from a text path.

It's for a font to be used with the Custom Font Script.
The canvas is very large, about 4000x4000 and each letter is about 450x450 or larger.
This makes it a very time consuming task to fill each letter using the animated brush.

I'm trying to find a way to fill the selections with the brush in one operation.

yeah i can only think of ofnuts's seamless helper script to create a seamless pattern that is about the dimension of one letter then you can just use it as pattern fill for rest of letter. but then it's not unique like you probably wanting each letter to be.

Let's say if one wanted to write a script that does something similar what would be the basic logics behind filling a selection with brush?
I don't know what the logic should be.
