Colour manipulation script

Post#1 by Steve Reid » 13 May 2019, 11:11

Colour manipulation script

The two images were rendered from this photo
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2314
called "wood_anemone_original" taken by Ella

The script
colour-manipulations.py
(4.8 KiB) Downloaded 117 times
can be found at <Image>/On test/Colour manipulations

The "Extent of glow" and "Intensity of glow" work in tandem, if either is set to 0 there is no effect

Re: "Image as background" and "Background colour", it doesn't matter which is chosen as they can be switched in the Layers dialog after the script has run

The script works on Gimp 2.8.1, but I don't know if it works on 2.10

thanks for looking

Those effects are beautiful, Steve. Nice script. I'll try it in 2.10.

Steve, I gave it a try in 2.10. I did not get as nice of outcome as you but I don't think I had the correct image to test. The script runs well on 2.10.10 Samj. I did have difficulty adjusting the intensity and pop. Could not get a smooth transition. First attempt not real good, will try with another type of image.

I like the results of this one. Learning how to adjust the parameters. Thanks, Steve.

With a b/w photo. I think the banding works well with this image.

Beautiful outcomes, Steve, Pat and Archie.

@Steve Reid you made my anemones very "dreamy." And thanks for the script.

@Pat625 Did you save the parameters on the lily? I really like that outcome :2_Thumbs:

Tried the script on a photo a took from my "Kingcups".

Thankyou Pat, Archie and Ella for your kind comments

I'm happy to know the script runs on 2.10, thanks Pat, I think better results are had with images that have a less busy background and with a background of similarly close colours, as in your second try, the lillies are beautiful

Two fine results Archie. I like your black and white rendition, I didn't test any black and white but will try some now

A very good result on the Kingcups Ella
