Version 1.16 Update to Custom Font Layer Utilities for Gimp 2.10

Post#1 by skinnyhouse » 11 Jun 2019, 22:06

Custom_Font_Layer_Utilities_v116.py
(35.65 KiB) Downloaded 101 times
Download and add the filter to your plug-in folder

This update adds dialog options for adding and/or creating a layer to use as a thumbnail .png image to accompany a custom font xcf file.

Open an existing custom font file and run the filter from:

Filters>>Custom Font Tools>>Custom Font Layer Utils v1.16

If you wish to create a layer to use for a thumbnail display and to export a file with the png extension to a folder of your own choosing use just the 'Add a display layer' option set to 'Yes'.

This will create a new topmost layer called 'Display' - using either an upper-case 'A' and a lower-case 'b' or an upper-case 'A' and an upper-case 'B' (if the custom font contains no lower-case characters). It will also add the filename of the custom font and the number of characters contained in the file.

Part font examples below:

Use the second option set to 'Yes' if you wish to export a png file with the same base name as your custom font file. The new file will be exported to the same folder as the custom font file and, if a thumbnail view is enabled, will act as a visual identifier for the accompanying custom font.

Skinnyhouse, Thank you so much for your constant work to improve your scripts. I can say that if we have such beautiful "Custom Fonts" going on it's because you have created such useful easy tools. I admire your creativity too. Thanks. :gimp_clap: :gimp_clap: :gimp_clap:
