How to question (solved)

Post#1 by animicule » 20 Mar 2017, 16:19

Is there a way to:

In my script, it called mh3dbevel.
the 3dbevel creates a new image.

I can see it in the list, but only have id number.

can I continue on from my script and work with the newly created image,
or do I need to end and start a new script.

I hope this makes sense!

Thank you

I think you can look at list of images before calling mh3dbevel, then afterwards see which image is created by mh3dbevel and keep going with it like a regular image.

I am not very advanced with scripting. Have spent about a week reading and trying commands.
The only way I know to open an image is if I have the image name, from bringing it into the script.
When the md3dbevel opens a new image it doesn't return the name, I only know how to find the ID which I don't know
how to use.
How are you generating a list that shows the names? Or have I missed how to use the ID ?
Thank you for your help.

in python fu.
You could try
gimp.image_list()
it'll return all images as objects currently opened that you can use.
I don't know how to use the pdb.gimp_image_list method, it returns ids which i have no idea how to use.

Thank you Tin! I was using the pdb method with no usable results.
Thanks also Dinasset.
