Jpegs in AddOnCollection Manager

When I add a jpeg to a pattern folder, then start up Gimp, call that folder via AddOnCollection Manager the jpeg isn't called? I've only noticed this recently and I'm sure I didn't have this problem before. Any helpful suggestions re; a fix would be most appreciated.

This plugin lets you quickly activate or deactivate collections of add-ons. This reduces clutter in the add-ons lists and improves Gimp performance by reducing the number of add-ons it needs to cache. Was created by Ofnut, I use it for the ton of brushes I have installed in Gimp. With this plugin, you can activate any addons like Brushes, pattern, Scripts, etc... and when you start Gimp the add ons won't get activated.go here for more info.

Try to convert or save the Jpg as .pat to see if it call it.

RJKD, when you add an image to the pattern folder, you must add it to the Storage folder. If it went to the active folder, you will lose it after that folder is deactivated. So if making patterns, adding fonts, etc. always make sure a copy is in the storage folder so that you have it permanently.

If the folder seems messed up, make sure you have everything from the active folder that you want in the Storage folder, if not, move what you need into the Storage folder. Then delete the active folder contents so that it is empty. (nothing is active). Go to the Storage folder and delete the .active file. It will appear again once you have activated a folder from your MainMenu/Help/Pattern sets menu.

Really appreciate your reply Pat and what your saying is exactly as the folders should behave , however what I have is this; example...
NO active folders - all folders in storage, therefore I add my jpeg (pattern) to the appropriate folder in storage...
Open Gimp - (refresh patterns - belt and braces)...
Then call the folder from AOCManager, all patterns show except jpegs...

I know i must be doing something wrong as it's a recent issue, i'll keep investigating, thanks again.

In theory, even an individual pattern file jpeg or otherwise when zipped will load and unload with addoncollectionmanager

However, I can not get a jpeg to work. It gets transferred to 'patterns' as an empty folder. Why I do not know.

Strangely png files work, so here are some png's zipped using that Windows right click -> Send to -> Compressed (zipped) Folder Put the zips in the patterns_storage folder.

While you are there, I recommend cleaning out any old 'managed' files from patterns and delete that .active file in patterns_storage to start afresh.

Bottom line, do not use jpegs, use png's

You Windows users are heroes in my eyes to use such an annoying OS.
