McDonald's free advertisement?

If you're on facebook i am sure you've seen one of these (or one similar to it).
I can't help but wonder if it was created purely for free advertisement purposes.

People think they're doing the math question when in reality, it doesn't matter what the answer is or if they get it wrong/right. All that matters is they're shown fastfood items that are McDonald's brand.
I so think this is a possibility because i saw this video of this guy that managed to subliminally suggest people to draw all stars when they were told they could draw anything they can think of... by showing them pictures that represented the letters stars even when told they were something else like for example for the t he showed them a cross not telling them it's to make them think of a "t" ... in the end, it worked everyone in the audience thought they thought it up themselves when in fact they all started drawing stars.

Tin, your image differs in the last line from McDonald's one (did Mac change it?).
My last reply is only for yours, and ONLY if we read it in an iconic way (i.e. each image is an icon of a number).
If each image represents a real thing, the answer in "nonsense", because you can't multiply things, just numbers...
The latter is probably the correct answer in Mac image, because there are "real things" represented.
