I 'migrated' from collage work (hand can't sustain prolonged cutting) I managed to photograph a few before I lost them.

I want to start doing digital collages in GIMP but i wonder if you have any quick tips that you've learned over the years that you'd like to share.

I really hope members will contribute to this thread T. and as time goes on I will contribute more and more. I have been using Gimp for a couple of years and am still figuring out the most suitable ways to make selections, cut and paste, remove objects etc. When I was making collages 'by hand' at any given time I would have a hundred or so various publications, magazines from anywhere and everywhere, DC to Pig Farming Weekly, anything I could get my hands on. I would roughly cut anything that took my eye and then slowly put 2 or 3 collages together, sometimes a single collage could take 18 months to complete. So, for now, my only suggestion is be bold, add and remove part images, don't have a deadline and leave intellect behind.

I agree with Tin!. Those collages are masterpieces! I've thought about trying it but never got started. You have posted high standard examples for me. I really like them all. I noticed the Queen Elizabeth stamp on the last one. My maternal grandparents were from England.

In the first collage 1992 there is something Pink Floyd fans would appreciate - and it's genuine.
