Sculptured Fractal Relief Images 2

Post#1 by oldmangrumpy » 25 Jun 2017, 03:51

Sorting through my PC I came across the first tutorials I wrote for GIMP a couple of years back. They were originally posted to GC but there is no reason not to post them to GL also.

Here is the second of the tutorials; images below show typical results and a ZIP file below includes the PDF tutorial and ancilliary files.

I remember that tutorial, OMG. I had a lot of fun doing it. Also I learned new things. Your tutorials are always very informative. Here was my fractal relief from your tut.

I had to go back and look at the PDF document as I had forgotten the steps in this (old) tut. And because I have learned a lot since I wrote it, I also added some extra tweaks to the process, like given the fractal a gradient overlay to represent typical 'Aussie bush' colouring. I also gave the kangaroos, what I hope looks like a stitched effect on the their outline.

Very creative effects OMG and Pat

I made the tutorial step by step to learn.
The only thing I've changed was to add a patternto the bottles in stead of a gradient.

Now I can experiment :)
