A week away and the kangaroo paw have gone berserk - the yellow ones are now well over 2 metres high and the red & green ones in a pot by the shed are edging towards a metre.

Pat - gardens are sublime and restful but at times a challenge.

Looks like we are in for four days of (welcome) rain so I took a couple of photos this morning; small is beautiful right now (unless you are an Eastern Water Skink, where a small one is being chased by a much larger one just outside my window right now) -

I agree with Pat, your garden has to be so beautiful!! From the photos you share with us the color and textures are simply amazing!! My photo skills need improving but this is probably the last rose of our season. I can't recall the name of the other flower, we usually do a good size veggie garden.

Nancy - I am glad that you like the Aussie natives and that you grow roses. I have five purple standard roses in the front of our home and we also do veggies. With lettuce, tomatoes, onions, beetroot and kale all going well our summer salads are well provided for and from our eggplant (long thin ones) my wife makes the world's best eggplant dinners.

Hopefully over the next week I will post a photo of my giant 'pink wall', some 8 metres high and about 10 metres wide - our Blueberry Ash (yes they are Aussie natives!!) are just starting to blossom.

OMG I look forward to more of your beautiful garden as the season is over for us. The veggie garden is our most productive growing harvest, my husband always plants way more than we could ever need, freeze, or store. But we live in a small town so folks know where to come to get anything we have plenty of. This is my little great nephew (aka my shadow) helping in the garden, I have 2 four legged babies that like to help (by giving more work covering their holes I might happen to fall into lol).

Elaeocarpus reticulatus - commonly known as the Blueberry Ash (the flowers turn into blue berries).

One looking up into the middle of the first tree to flower (now about 8 metres high). There are 4 of these and also three younger ones. Second photo is a closer shot of the little pink flowers, and for whatever reason it has flowered very heavily this year..
