Brian - now I am starting to get a handle on all those parameters in combination. First attempts here with the old test script; I will install the updated version when you send it and test/learn further! Thanks for involving me in your work.

Pat, I am trying to make it easy to use. The basic concepts are not too complex.
Added a way to export a layer with the settings used easily, so that will help
when a good outcome appears the settings are there and you won't need to
write a couple dozen setting down. Script will do the same thing as long as the
same settings are used.... after that it is just playing with the layer while keeping
in mind what they will look like in a gif.
OMG, glad to see your getting nice results!
The first one would stand out more if cropped closer!
Maybe should add that feature in the script, as I crop everything,
but want the large layer size so nothing gets lost in the rotations,
after which it sets all layers to image size which is the command that
loses the out of bounds areas which may be caused by the rotation.

Here is one which made 2 sets of 6 layers (6 for each star). It rotated when 6 layers were completed, and
also moved the center x,y point and rotated the color order list at the same time.
Then exported as gif, with animation checked, 'I don't care' selected for the layer disposal option and 100ms for the time,
without checking set all to either the time or disposal.
