Very good outcomes, Brian  Some of them I also made already, have a few to go yet.
But as Richard says "Easy does it."

Thank you for pointing me in the Gimp Workshop direction Ella!
I tried one or two blender tutorials about 30 months ago, but failed to come away with real understanding.
Maybe me, maybe not the right tutorials... just like gimp tutorials, some just move too fast and the progression
is not clear before you start the steps.
Do you have a recommendation for beginner blender?

Here is another outcome from Gimp Workshop tutorial
It took some time to complete. I thought it was worth while. He explains the steps,
then fast forwards until some thing new is introduced.
Probably I got best at clicking the pause button during the fast forward

The first Blender tutorial I followed was this ring. It's a very good one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqhi8q4EGZk

In the beginning I just did all the steps without knowing what they exactly meant.
That I learned a bit with practicing.

The benefit of doing tutor4u tutorials is the outcome is always satisfying for a beginner if you do every step punctually (that's sometimes the problem )
My biggest problem was how to move the project, witch shortkeys, mousewheel or combination to use without to destroy my whole project
I often used the pause or rewind button and almost never made the project in one time, saved the blend file several times.
It took me days, sometimes weeks to finish it. Not that I worked on it every day then.
Now I'm getting to know the program a little bit better it takes me less time.
But I still find it time consuming.

On the other hand... I love it :)

Like you Brian, I'm interested in Blender (I got frustrated when I couldn't suss out how to export transparency for use back to Gimp, so in typical fashion, threw my toys out and gave up) however I did find this just yesterday.

A pity you didn't ask it here, Richard. I used my Blender soccer ball with transparent background here on this football outcome

Ells, I started in with blender trying to do a 3d animation tutorial, I do believe it was not the best choice to start with. I am only 1 version behind with blender.. should be a quick fix, but not ready to commit again just yet.. and now I know who to ask when there are questions!
Richard, it looks like that are an actual school, the price seems reasonable, but again, not quite ready just yet.

Another outcome from youtube channel GIMP Workshop.
This one is a good workout for learning to use the path tool for selections.
It is starting to make sense and will ultimately be quicker when added to the other
methods I like to use.

That is nifty, Brian. I see that this workshop has many different things. Where do we find it?

Hi Pat! I'm trimming another tree and am covered in ants, going back outside right away....

Gimp Workshop is a YouTube channel that Ella told me about. You can click any of the links
for the tutorials that I completed, and from that youtube page you should find this channel.
Or just go to youtube and search for Gimp Workshop.

Have fun!
