How do I adjust paths?

Post#1 by runSPOTrun13 » 28 Nov 2016, 04:57

When I'm doing a circular logo, How can I adjust the path along the outer edge of the circle? It seems that when I use the paths tool I don't have an easy option for where the text starts and ends...is there an easy way to center text on a path?

after you install script.
You can create a circular path (from selection).
Then right click the path -> Tools -> Text Along Path.
Then after you create the Text.
You can click on rotate tool -> pick Path for Transform in Tool Options and rotate the created Text to wherever you'd like.

For the bottom text, you can flip the path, and have the text go counter clockwise.

How do you mean T? I've tried flipping the bottom text every which way and the outcome I posted is the only way I can make it legible.

What i mean, is you you can generate the text clockwise with your circular path.
Then you flip the circular path, and text along path that circular path to get a counter clockwise text for the bottom so that the text goes both ways but not upside down.

For example here i created text using clockwise path then height reference top of box.
Then flipped the circle, then created text using height reference bottom of box.
And rotated the text afterwards of course but you should get an idea from this.

Got it, I was flipping the text, thank you and thank you Rich, I've busted my backside achieving the outcomes I could have learned in 10 minutes with this video. There is an ocean of difference between a tutorial that teaches and a tutorial which is really a step guide to producing a desired outcome. I like them both, however the teaching tuts are hard to find.
