I was disappointed with my attempts for the first version of the tutorial and so tried the second version. Up to about step 15 I thought it was looking OK but then I seemed to lose the mosaic definition on the beach and cliff areas. I ended up thinking that maybe I chose an inappropriate photo in the first place, like I had with other tuts in the past. :?

Still, here is my cliff/beach mosaic. Issabella & Diego, thank you for this tutorial.
OMG, if you post your source I can try whether there is a way to get what you like to see.

Diego - Thanks very much for your offer. However, I have only a couple of days before leaving for a long 'wilderness' holiday, so I will use them to work through the tutorial with a couple of contrasting images. Then, with more experience of the method I will hopefully be more satisfied with the results; if not then I shall meekly seek you out :)

Excellent outcomes, Isabella.
IMHO colours are a bit "shocking", I would reduce the saturation.

Here's some results from the new tutorial. Looking at the result from the first version, I can tell something went wrong. I think that was me getting lost in the layers rather than the tutorial. I found the house photo online. The other two are mine.
Archie, IMO you should pay attention:
- to the saturation (too much in your outcomes)
- to the clear visibility of the tiles (it depends on many factors, you need to examine each layer produced step by step to identify wher you may intervene)
I guess you're right about the saturation. I see what you're saying about the tiles looking at those images but the originals don't look that bad. Here's a couple of details. I lowered the saturation on these. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
