Mathmap

Mathmap
Can anyone tell me where mathmap is located? I'm claiming to have looked in every possible place but obviously I have not since I haven't found it

Hi generd, I hope it helps.
Issabella
Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

Ah, I have all the others in that group but I don't have the mathmap. I will try the registry and see if I can find it, Thank you Issabella.
Nancy, try this site: http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/schani/mathmap/
One problem with MathMap is its age. It comes from the Gimp 2.6 era and the installer still thinks it is 2009.
There is varying advice on how to install but this is mine, nothing clever.

Thank you Pat and Rich2005, I followed your tutorial but it's still not coming up. I'm pretty sure I had it at one time but i'm not sure when or where I lost it.
Nancy, try these instructions:
To install the Mathmap filter follow these directions PRECISELY!
Or it will not work.
The MM Instsall folder has 3 folders inside
1 bin-folder place files in bin folder
2 mathmap-folder place entire folder in .gimp-2.8 folder
3 plugins-folder place entire mathmap folder inside in your .gimp-2.8 plugins folder(don't take mathmap out of the plug in folder, put the plug in folder containing mathmap into the user/.gimp/plugin folder)
Next you must create a new path in preferances-Folders-Plugins for your .gimp-2.8/plugins/mathmap folder
-------------------Now restart and you should have mathmap------------------
---------------------Thats it.That is all there is to it.-------------------
You will find Mathmap under Filters > Generic > Mathmap

Thanks so much Pat for all you help, i'm missing the bin folder maybe? I tried totally reinstalling mathmath from the above site, and this is what I get..
Guessing you looked at the video, someone has, but did not grasp the essentials.
The whole folder mathmap goes in your Gimp profile folder C:\Users\yourname\.gimp-2.8
It should end up between 'levels' and 'modules'

Then either
copy all the files + folder from the mathmap plugin folder to the Gimp plug-in folder

or as Pat described
copy the whole mathmap plugin folder and add the location to the paths in Preferences.
