2nd example
X at about 50% of image width
Y at about Negative 50% of image height
To me, this allows it to look more like a "bubbling brook" flow
where the top one diffuses to the sides almost directly a the start of Y = 0
and of course if Y had been positive 50% it would look like a "radial" flow
like pouring water on a round rock.
Thanks Tin,
I like the effect!

great idea. I'll make a version 4 that allows for negative coordinates.

Thanks Tin, that is a real time saver if you are trying to direct the direction!

Here a try with version 4 and flames. I'm not too good with flames.
It was easy to direct the 'flames' upward at a bit of an angle with version 4.

How did you do it so that it only does the flame and not the whole image?

Subject was black and white. Added color to the fire. Saved a copy for use later.
On a copy of the added color outcome, used color to alpha to remove black and white
Applied version 4 filter to that result, and did a rough clean up of anything that wasn't fire on each layer of the 7 layer outcome.
Then used the saved copy with the added color as the background on each of the 7 layers and made
a replacement type gif.
Oh also, found it better to use 40% opacity for better definition on the animation layers.

Here was the black and white after I added what may pass for colored flames to it.

Multiple Zooms isn't visible on my Win7 desktop, Gimp 2.10.10. :crysmiley:
On a Win10 machine it works perfectly.
GIMP Learn rocks...
