Thank you so much OMG and Nancy.
I like your Kangaroo creation. It looks great in your backlit 3 D background. :gimp_clap:

I finally had a day that the lighting filter was more agreeable to work with!

Nice tutorial OMG.
I follower it to the letter and when it was complete.
I added my own twist to it.
Here's my final results.

Wallace - wow thank you for an excellent result. That you, a long time GIMP master, have done on of my tuts makes me feel both humble and excited. :pompom: :yay_yay_purple:

It's true, I've been using GIMP a long time,
however, "master" I think not.
I continually find myself learning form even the newest of Gimper's, who take up this software.
This tutorial is your creation and is the reason for the outcome I obtained.
Well constructed tutorials create great results.
I enjoyed following along with it and this is the most important thing to me.
It was also very refreshing, given the original idea which you presented.
You my friend, are and should be an inspiration to other, who struggle to wrap their heads around GIMP and it's possibilities.
Thank you OMG.

I must agree with Wallace, who has so eloquently stated what I (and many others) feel. You are a great inspiration for me. I can only hope that as I progress, I can help others as I so greatly appreciate the the help you have given me.

Wallace, do not sell yourself short. You have always been such a great help to me, and I would very quickly use the word "Master" to describe your knowledge and use of Gimp.

Really very nice results OMG. I continue having the problem with that gradient because the program doesn't recognise it. What I have done it's to create a normal gradient with similar colours (ext grr). At last it worked.
Thank you OMG, a very nice tutorial to get such a wonderful effect. :gimp_clap:
@ Issabella,

The issue with the .svg gradient is the File Associations your computer is using for .svg files.
Apparently on your computer, .svg files are associated with IE (Internet Explorer) and not GIMP.

If you right-click the .svg file and change the file association to GIMP.
It should work.
Select Choose another app.

Be sure to set the .svg files to always open with GIMP.

If GIMP isn't one of the available programs to select.
You need to find your GIMP.exe file and select it.
For example, my gimp.2.8.exe is located at,
"C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\gimp-2.8.exe"

Thank you very much, Wallace. I have the same problem with the .svg files. I'll try this fix.
