But my GIMP doesn't come with pip I don't think.
whenever i tried installing things using pip, it was always a separate python install than my GIMP's python.

I had to install pip first, but it was installed in the correct Gimp subdirectory ('C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\Python\Scripts' on my system). Maybe if you just copy the pip files from your external Python installation into the Gimp installation, it might work.

Here are the steps I followed:

1. Download 'get-pip.py' from the link in your post and save it in a directory somewhere (I saved it in "C:\Users\David\Downloads").

2. In a shell window with admin rights, change directory to Gimp's Python directory and run the following command (on my system):

C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\Python>.\python.exe C:\Users\David\Downloads\get-pip.py

3. Change directory to the 'Scripts' subdirectory and run the following command (on my system):

C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\Python\Scripts>pip install pillow

I got some error messages in steps 2 and 3 ("ImportError: No module named runtime"), but I just ignored them. Seemed to work anyway.

Thanks for the details.
I'll have something to refer to when/if i want to try something with other libraries.
The thing is it has to be something that must absolutely be needed.
If I find other ways of doing with the standard libraries than I'll go with that as I could set up my environment to run scripts that include odd libraries but I doubt many people would go through all that to get a script working, so it's less likely to be used.
