Design a custom T-shirt
Note: By sharing your designs to this topic/thread. You're releasing your design to public domain so anyone can use/alter the design for any purpose (even commercially).
Make sure if you use text, use a font that is public domain or free for commercial use (use something like http://www.1001fonts.com, where many of their fonts are indicated as free for commercial use).
I want it so that I can post these designs to my FAA account to have a real product from designs and others can use the design to print with another company/service if they wish.
I thought since I made a template for card design
I would make one to help people for designing custom T-shirts as well.
Here's the template: Here's the preview of what the template looks like: Here's a sample preview of T-shirt with design: Here's the actual design (sample design):
Instructions:
1. Download .zip template file. Unzip and Open it in GIMP.
2. Toggle T-shirt layers visible/invisible to preview your T-shirt design.
3. Turn off top most layer where the sample design is on.
4. Design your T-shirt on this topmost layer or a new layer (staying within the guides).
5. You have guides to indicate where design will be printed.
6. Once you're happy with design, make all other layers invisible except your design layer.
7. Select "Design area" path/vectors. Turn it into selection. Crop To Selection. And export this design as png file (can have transparency like sample design).
8. That's it then share your design in this thread (it'll be released to public domain so anyone can print/alter/sell your design).
9. If you do not wish to share to public domain, DO NOT share in this thread.
10. That's it.
Thanks in advance to those who'd like to share their T-shirt designs.
Cheers.
I want to be able to have an apparel product on FAA like this for all the designs: http://bit.ly/2oFnSfm

@RJKD
You just attached preview of shirt.
Could you attach the design too? (By hiding the shirts, and crop to the size of Path already included in template).

Tin, I saw something very similar on a YouTube video of "5 Minute Crafts" 33 Cool and Simple Clothing Life Hacks and Crafts.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy3mokM8gr4
A silhouette of a cat with sticky backing was placed on an old T Shirt, then sprayed with Bleach in splats around the silhouette to make the area surrounding much lighter. This way, the color of the shirt is the color of the silhouette. It worked best with the black T shirt. That would probably change if you used an image different from a cat.
My cat silhouette is from 1001free downloads for personal or commercial use. Hope you can use it.

Thanks RJKD and Pat.
I have added them on my FAA account and added "Get This T-Shirt" links to your posts.

Tin - I hope it's OK but I may have cheated you by changing the shirt colours to get the two tone Aussie national green/gold. Happy to change things if that is a problem.

I made the vector in Inkscape watching this video tutorial.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzOQrxuTG78
Don't know if I may call the outcome "mine".
I made it myself but the idea of the design is not mine.

Very nice work, Tin, Ella, RJKD, OMG.
Tin, do you need us to post the design in another size for some of the items? I noticed that either all of the cat and/or text is cut off on the iPhone case and tote bag. I don't think someone will want to buy with only half of the design.

Thank you Pat. Yours is beautiful as well
Is it about selling the designs, Tim ?
And what's an FAA account ? I don't know that.
