That's the same thing I'm seeing using 2.10's "Tile Seamless". I don't know how to fix it, either. Hopefully someone else can help. At least now I know it's not a problem with my image, and that going back to 2.8's "Make Seamless" isn't going to fix it.
Tile seamless works by introducing some blur. So it doesn't work well in this case. Do it without using tile seamless.

1. Use smooth palette to make a pattern like (1) below. Say 256x256

2. Then use this image to an image like (2) below. Also 256x256. This image is seamless.

3. Tile to much larger than needed. I haven't tested, but probably something like 6000x6000

4. Rotate this large image 45 degrees

5. Crop a 3600x3600 from the centre

@enxio27 I made the pattern seamless in 2.8 and then tested it on a file of 3600x3600 pixels.
And indeed when I look at the large file at 100% size I see errors in the plaid.

Thank you for your help!
I'm not sure, maybe Tim can get this doubt off, but could the Seamless Cut script be useful in this case?

Thank you so much Ella for your nice tutorial. I don't have Gimp 2.8 but 2.10. However I could follow your tutorial and guide. Very clever endded. :gimp_clap:
I came with this result.

@Krikor I've never tried that script, but maybe it's a solution for enxio27.

You're welcome, Issabella. You have the capacity to make always something beautiful out of a tutorial.
Well done :paint

Because almost everyone now works with gimp 2.10, I thought I'd made a tutorial without any value.
