Thank you for the great tutorial, Leopardo :gimp_clap:

Overall I found it good to follow but which filter you are using on page 30 to get the decorative line on the front of the text?
Google translated it as: Filters - Map - Map of bosses

Here is my try without that stage.

Very good tutorial, Leopardo. Thank you. The tutorial taught me a few things and some other things I knew once, I had forgotten. This was a good work out for me. I did not follow the tut exactly. I skipped the part with using the dark blue color to paint the areas that would become a silver color. If something was not detailed, I would go off on my own little adventure. Thank you again!

Teapot: To get the detail line on the fronts of the letters I just did alpha to selection on the original bent text, which should be exact on the fronts. Then I used Select-Shrink and brought the selection smaller and inside the letters to my liking. You may have to play with it a little bit to find how many pixels to shrink it by to your liking. Then Edit-Stroke Selection with about 3-4 pixels (to your liking) using a contrasting color.

Edit: I just realized I posted the wrong one! There are no shadows! I will fix it when I get home today. (These senior moments are driving me bonkers!)

Edit: Finally, I have the correct image posted!!

teapot, there are several ways to do the decoration.
I always do like this.
1º - I get my text - G - (1)
2º - Create a new layer - Map - (2)

3º - In my text - G - ( 1 ), I give a »Alpha in selection«, I go to, »Select - shrink», I shrink 10 px.
4º - Back in »Select - Contour« I make a + or - contour of 4 px.
5º - Now I choose a gray color, and fill in the layer Map ( 2 )

6º - In the layer - Map - I give a Gaussian blur + or - 2, I take the visibility of the Layer (1)
7º - In the Text layer (2) we go to »Filters - Map - Map« (3)

9º - I put + or - these settings.

10º - In the layer - Map - I do - Alpha in selection - let's go - Selection - Shrink - shrink 1 or 2 px.
11º - Create a new layer - Edge - (2)
12º - Fill with, a color, a texture etc.etc.
