WOW - looks like there has been a lot of helpful activity here while I was sleeping.

Well done gnerd and thanks to all the helpers - GIMP was once a steep mountain for me too and even now sometimes it still is.

@oldmangrumpy I'm getting stuck at Section 3.1, step 6. After completing step 5, this is what I see (not the image shown at the beginning of step 6 in your tutorial):

When I proceed through steps 6-9, I end up with a just a background image with no left brumby. I have the layers you indicated, but the thumbnails for Left Brumby and left brumby highlights are blank. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Running GIMP 2.10.12 on Win7.

Hi enxio27 - just got the email about your post; I'll dig out the tut and have a look, check it on 2.10 and then respond for you. :)

enxio27 - the tutorial was written under Gimp 2.8 but I have just run through it on 2.10 without any problems, although some 2.10 behaviour (e.g. location of pasted layers) does vary.

If the steps 5 and 6 through 9 are completing, then all I can think of right now is that the 'left brumby layer group is not visible - see my screen snaps below. Do the actions from steps 6 to 9 create new layers in the layer group?

@oldmangrumpy Steps 5-9 do create new layers, but they seem to be blank (not invisible).
