Thousand-hand-thousand-eye Buddha This my uncle hangs next to the altar so I guess it's part of the altar.

Interesting read/teaching I read:
That pictures/statues of Buddhas are good to look at even for people who don't believe in Buddha or even for people who dislike Buddha. By looking/seeing statues, it plants a seed into their 8th sense. And in future lives, when they're introduced to Buddha again the seed would have grown and they'll more likely follow/believe. And for those that don't believe in Buddha and only appreciate the art like if they think oh that's such amazing piece of art, it'll plant a seed even deeper in their 8th sense because they appreciate the art so much so it's even better. So there's no harm in seeing pictures of Buddhas.

Tin - my son has his birthday next week, but at the forest monastery they are currently observing Vassa, the annual "rains retreat" so I have made him a card that I will put online for him.
