Beautiful and interesting images. In the same way, we are connected because close where I live there are many dinosaur footprints, too. An enormous museum keeps complete dinosaur skeletons. This is in Teruel (Aragón)
I did a custom font from one of your beautiful photos. :happy_purple:

Issabella & Richard - thanks for your nice comments and the pearl custom font.

Here are some more from our walk through/to Cathedral Gorge. We approached along formal walkways and the dry creek beds (do not attempt in the wet season!!). Another magic place for which I would need 20 more pics to do it justice. Three years ago our tour operator organised for a wind quintet from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra to play in the Cathedral Cavern for its tour guests. They played on the sand bank in front of the water pool and declared its acoustics the best ever.

I have also provided zip files of the originals for David, Diego et al to play with if desired.

Wallace and Flutteringby - thanks for your comments.

Now some more photos and the zipped originals for others to play with :)

Fed by the monsoon rains, the mighty Ord River has an earth-fill only dam wall at Lake Argyle and it is the most efficient dam in Australia in terms of the ratio of the size of the dam wall to the amount of water stored. Lake Argyle's usual storage volume is 5,797 gigalitres, making it the largest reservoir in Australia and the furthest from all major populated cities and it is connected to none :o

As I have said previously, this was a wilderness holiday! The area does though have some 150 square kilometres (58 sq mi) of farmland under irrigation at present and it is growing. In one pic I show a concrete causeway on the lower reaches of the river, a short cut between Wyndham and Kunnunurra, but again it is not usable in the wet season.

Now some shots from a helicopter ride over the Bungle Bungle Range, comprised of sandstone and conglomerates created over 350 million years ago. The Bungle Bungle Range occupies an area of approximately 450 square kilometres and backs on to the Tanami desert.

No doors on the chopper so great trust in those seat belts

David/Diego - zipped originals below; we are about half way though the holiday with coastal cruise/rock art/waterfalls still to come. Just let me know if/when you have had enough!

Issabella - yes it was an amazing adventure - we also had hikes on most days, some quite difficult, rocky and steep too.

The Fitzroy River is another major waterway, fed by the monsoon rains and now being considered for damming and irrigation purposes. The white on the cliffs shows the waterline at peek wet season levels.

We saw a number of crocodiles on our trip, and they infest the water holes, rivers and coastline of the 'top end' as we call it. We have freshwater and saltwater species so swimming is not recommended except in a concrete swimming pool!

Diego/David -I cropped the croc photo to show it off better - the original in the zip is not cropped..
