I used Diego's Nuance (blue) for the sky. Some sharpening, and Evidence of Selection.

Thank you David. What did you do with the harbor bridge picture to get such detail and clarity with all the many little buildings?

Pat,
I'm not sure that mine is any clearer than yours!
I gave the picture a colour boost and used curves to increase the contrast a little. I tried wavelet sharpening, but with an image width of only 800 pixels it started to fall apart, so I rejected that.

Thank you, David. How do you do a color boost?

Pat,

My method of boosting colours (there are probably better ways!) is a variation of what I once saw as a Velvia filter.

Go to Colours/Components/Channel Mixer...
In each channel (red, green, blue) increase from 100% to 140% and reduce the other two components from 0% to -20%. That is to say, the total still equals 100%.

It can be saved as "colourboost" or whatever name you wish.

The result of this is usually over the top, so I apply it to a duplicated layer and then reduce the opacity until the result is acceptable.

I hope this explanation is understandable - I have attached a screenshot of one of the three channels.
