Beautiful effect, David.
These pics were taken while trekking in the mornings and avoiding people.

More beautiful photographs, which I have processed very quickly - probably too quickly! I ought to have spent more time and perhaps produced better results.

Thank you so much David, your corrections are very good and make them be much nicer to keep in my album. Also, what you comment about each item is very interesting for me to learn. :thank_you:

More beautiful photographs from Issabella!

These have given me the opportunity to play with the latest version of my equal luminosity mask plugin, and my experimental saturation mask plugin.

(Also in entry #1 of viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2776)
satmask.py

Perhaps I should write tutorials about their use.

David, you have done fantastic improvements to them. You have corrected the vertical orientation, too. color and contrast are now in the right balance.
If you have enough time, a tutorial explaining how to use your scripts would be really useful. :2_Thumbs:
Well, here more images to play if you like.
(I don't know why some photos upload inverted when I have them in the right position) ?????

My play with three of the latest photographs.
IMG_7514.JPG: Superb photo! I have made only the very slightest of changes using Colours/Curves.
IMG_7514_1.JPG

IMG_7509.JPG: Used the Saturation Mask plugin to emphasise the gold and desaturate the background.
IMG_7509_1.JPG

IMG_7359.JPG: I discovered an "accidental" feature of both the Saturation Mask plugin and the Luminosity Mask plugin!
First I selected the water to give it special treatment using Colours/Curves. I saved the selection to a channel. When I then used the Saturation Mask plugin I discovered that it created an additional layer with the channel as a mask. By right-clicking the mask and selecting Show Layer Mask, I was able to do a Select by Colour which gave me a selection which protected the water from change. I used the Saturation Mask plugin to increase the saturation of the low-saturation parts of the image and reduce the saturation of the high-saturation parts (principally the orange colour). I then flattened the image and used the Luminosity Mask plugin to brighten the darker regions. This plugin also created an extra layer with the channel as a mask, again allowing me to protect the water from change.

David, what you discovered is great. You have developed such skills in photography, masks, and improvement in colours, too. :gimp_clap:
Thanks for your comments we all can learn something about your process. :thank_you:
