related to shopping list

Post#1 by Issabella » 27 Jun 2021, 15:33

Tim, I loved your idea for creating a shopping list, but as it has been created it is no practical at least for me. The helpful shape wouldd be to have a complete list on one side and remove the no required items. Also, to have the list written and saved for each user. I mean, to have installed the script.
I hope to have made myself understood. Could it be done?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you mean.
What i created is just javascript and it only uses what info you give it and then if you save the link given then your list is saved and can be used whenever. and if any changes just save/bookmark a different link.
It's all link driven.
Are you asking for a GIMP Plug-in? or a shopping list like what I created but just saves your input? if you just want your list saved just save the link given at bottom it'll contain all your entered items in exact configuration (like which of the 2 lists each item belongs to).

Thank you so much Tim for your information. Yes, just I didn't know what I could do to save the whole list (mine is long).
I see it now to be really practical in that way.
Thanks Tim. :thank_you:

How long is the list? There's a limit of 2048 characters in a link...so I think the link might run out of space after 80 or so items but it depends on how long each item is too.
But if you limit your item to average of 8 characters per item then you can have close to 256 items saved in the link

Thank you so much Tim, no, no so long list. I wrote my items and it was correct and no problems.
Enough for me.
Thanks a lot as it saves me time and it makes me remeber if yes or not each item. I find it really practical. :yay_yay_purple: :gimp_clap:

@Issabella
If you like this tool, you'll probably love this one much more: https://cs-pattern.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=383
it's basically the same but a little friendlier with Move All buttons and automatically saves using cookies so as long as you
use the same device and browser (and not clear/erase cookies), the data will also automatically saves for you.

Someone on reddit mentioned that they would've used localStorage which is even better because then data is saved even when you clear your cookies.
So I have updated the cookie version to use localStorage now.
Works way better, and even works when you save it as an offline page.
