Amazing plugin!
Did a few tests, loved the results together with the postal stamp plugin.

@Krikor, I tried using your image but it didn't fit the whole image when used as an input. I ampliated it to 1000x1000 and ran two times a high-pass so it would be more clear, it made a very nice looking texture. I'll attach the ampliated version. The .zip have a better resolution, so I included it.

@Dionísio, The original is 1000x1000 but when I tried to make the link available I ended up uploading the image. I think the GL Forum automatically resized to 800x800.
I hadn't noticed this until I saw your post commenting on the case.
Maybe I should have compressed the image before I uploaded it.
I am aware of the work that has been done.
Anyway, I will try to send the original zip.

Tin - tried this plug-in in 2.8.22 and it failed with error 'NameError: global name 'LAYER_MODE_NORMAL' is not defined'.

I take it this is part of the conspiracy to make me upgrade to 2.10

Whatever ... I made a glass one

Hi, I'm new to gimp plugins. I followed the install procedure, but I can not see the plugin in the menu.
I tried to exec gimp --verbose : these are the error lines. Permissions are ok.
-------------------
Querying plug-in: '/home/mole/.config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/rubber_stampHERETHEREISADOTpy'
gimp: LibGimpBase-ATTENZIONE: gimp: gimp_wire_read(): error
Terminating plug-in: '/home/mole/.config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/rubber_stampHERETHEREISADOTpy'
-------------------

Any hint?
thank you very much

Hello Mole. Not sure exactly what's happened above, but, if you're using Windows 10, try this:

Close GIMP.

In Windows Explorer, find the downloaded "rubber_stamp.py" file. Copy the file.

Now, one step at a time, find the folder ... mole/AppData/Roaming/GIMP/2.10/plugins

and paste the "rubber_stamp.py" file in the plugins folder.

Open an image in GIMP.

In the main toolbar strip AT THE TOP OF THE GIMP SCREEN you should see an entry called "Python-Fu"

Under Python-Fu should be an entry "Create New"

and there you should find the entry "Rubber Stamp ..."

thanks neurolurker.
I made a similar procedure, but relative to Linux, copied the file "rubber_stampDOTpy" here
/home/mole/.config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/
the menu entry Python-Fu doesn't appear and the error is what I posted before.

Mole, my regrets. My experience is only with Windows. I have no comfort zone at all for offering any kind of help with Linux, sorry to say. But I'm sure someone else here at Gimp Learn can -- and will -- give you some guidance. Hang in there.

Welcome, by the way.

On Linux, you have to right click the plug-in in your a file browser and set permissions to executable.
