Draw A Flower Of Life Symbol With This Script

Post#1 by gibletsWithShaman » 10 Apr 2020, 22:51

I've finished my second GIMP Pyhon-Fu script. I call it Draw Flower Of Life v1. It creates Flower Of Life symbols. I've put the help info in the script's header. Its pretty simple to use, but very versatile. I welcome feedback.

After placing the script in the script folder, you will find the menu item is:
Filters/Render/Flower Of Life...

The script file:
Draw-Flower-Of-Life-v1.py
(22.41 KiB) Downloaded 72 times

The Script Window:
The script can produce a near infinite number of variations.

I composed these examples after finishing the script.
The Flower Of Life symbol is said to be helpful in opening the spirtual third-eye.

Thank you for sharing your script. I look forward to more quiet moments while using it.

Default settings, various over- and under-lays. Very faux sand painting.

Congratulations on finishing your second script :gimp_clap: your examples look very good

If my try seems basic it is because I'm using an older version of gimp which meant I had to adapt your code to get it to run, I may have lost some functionality along the way but I'm enjoying the play

Thanks Charles I appreciate the offer but your code doesn't need fixing, it runs as it should on gimp 10. The problem is at my end as I'm running gimp 2.8.22 which most people seem to have moved on from

Only problem I have is line 514

pdb.gimp_drawable_edit_gradient_fill(
gradient_layer,
GRADIENT_RADIAL,
.0,
TRUE,
1,
0,
TRUE,
center,
center,
flower_radius * 2,
flower_radius * 2
)

There is no equivalent that I can find in the pdb of my gimp 2.8.22 so I edited out that section, as such I don't know what I am losing

Still enjoying the play and tinkering with the script, and I like watching it run with the layers dialog open

kind regards

I am sure there was something similar in gimp 2.8...it might not be called drawable_... but simply gradient something
if so you can do a pdb.gimp_version or something similar check and execute that instead. I don't have 2.8 installed
