How to install GIMP Scripts/Plug-ins (.py files) for GIMP

Installing plugins

1) Download file and unzip if it is zipped so that you get file with .py extension.
2) Inside GIMP program, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Folders -> Plug-Ins and see the folder/path listed.
3) Copy/Move the .py file from step 1 to one of one of those folders.
4) If you're on Linux, you'll have to browse to the file and right click on it, the Properties, Permissions Tab, Allow Execute as Program (to make it executable).
5) Restart GIMP.
6) And now plug-in is active for use.

For example, on my Windows 10, my Folders -> Plug-Ins listed
C:\Users\Tin Tran\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins
C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins
so I just save my .py files to C:\Users\Tin Tran\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins

For Linux users:
Your plugin path is: /home/[username]/.gimp-2.8/plug-ins
Python scripts must be made executable to work

Hi Tim

I just added "beads_tt_for_GIMP_2.10(3)" and "cross_stitch_tt(4)" as you describe at the top and restarted GIMP.
I then try to restart script but nothing happens. (I have now tried for a few hours with no luck).
I have Win10 and GIMP 2.10.6.
I even restarted the pc.

What can I have done wrong ?

Now I manage to get "Playing Card Script" and "Kaleidoscope-ish Script" to work. But I still can't get "beads_tt_for_GIMP_2.10(3)" and "cross_stitch_tt(4)" to work. And now i can see the tap "Python-fu".
It started working with the first 2 AFTER I added them to the Python console folder and It still works after I removed them again.
I have all 4 scripts in the same folders. both in the plug-ins folder and scripts folder. But I can only see 2 of them ?

I am not sure why that is because they're all .py files so as long as long as you got one to work (that means you did it right) in the plug-ins folder than the others should be the same process.
