Sorry, I am not sure why that is. If you read through the posts you'll find that xefthimiax had a similar problem but he/she was playing with the .py file. Then he/she reverted back to my version and it started working and we're still not sure what prevented it from showing up in the first place.
I am on Linux, so I can't help much.

I would try another script like not a cross-stitch script and see if it shows up then at least you know it isn't a GIMP 2.10.4 issue with reading plug-ins.

Edit->Preferences->Folders->Plug-ins should list 2 folders, try the other one too just for kicks, since we still don't know what the problem is.

I've tried both versions (3 and 4) in both folders, I can't seem to get it to work at all. I even put it under the python folder in plug-ins just to see if that would work, but it didn't.

Thanks for trying though. /:

The only thing left to try is to remove them all from those folders, and add your own folder in Edit->Preferences->Folders->Plug-ins... like something like Desktop/myplugins and see if it would read from there.
It's worth a shot.

Hey tim, I'm sorry to annoy but I don't know how to make your program works. I put it in the correct folder, but it doesn't appaer in GIMP in the "filter" section. I'm running GIMP 2.8 on windows 7.

Hi zreaty, you don't have to look in the Filter section. It's under Python-Fu.

When I run this, it displays the cross stitch, but it crashes while drawing the grid with this message:

I am running OpenSUSE 42.3 and Gimp 2.8.18

If you run 2.8 you should download previous versions for 2.8, I think i make a note of it under each download saying if it's for 2.10 or 2.8.

UPDATE: Yep I made a version (2.5) that is for GIMP 2.8 with Delta-E color matching method. That's the latest version for GIMP 2.8. versions listed below that version are for GIMP 2.10.

Tin, I am testing the Cross Stitch pattern on Windows 10, 64 bit with Samj's Gimp 2.10.6.
This is version 4 of your script

These are my results. Are they what is expected?
