Spherical Environment Map Sharing Topic

Re: Spherical Environment Map Sharing Topic
Tin and Skinnyhouse, very good work on the emaps! Please do not get me addicted to this! I need another hard drive!!!
Skinnyhouse - thanks, but after playing a little, I decided that the first e-map was a little pale so I recreated it darker and smaller - like this ...

Just for the sake of completeness OMG:
Your two excellent E-maps with exactly the same settings applied... ... the second one to the left.

@Tim, your video has clearly shown that Map Object produces better results, excellent tip!tim wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 21:04UPDATE: just tested it all still works in GIMP 2.10
All the below still work in GIMP 2.10.X
https://web.archive.org/web/20170614051 ... l-reflect/ (Get the right version for your machine, read install instructions on the page [I think you just toss it in /plug-ins/ and make it executable, at least for Linux, it is])
https://web.archive.org/web/20171024221 ... lect-logo/ (Get this for /scripts folder)
https://web.archive.org/web/20171203202 ... lobe-view/ (Get this for /scripts folder)
However, map object - sphere produces a better shiny ball and a better shine on bevel reflect logo as the below video shows:
I didn't understand the reference to the ml-bevel-reflect script that wasn't used in either of the two videos displayed.
With this, only one of the scripts becomes necessary to realize this effect, the bevel-reflect-logo.
Very obligate

Here are a few Spherical Environment Maps I made back in 2014

After a lot of reading, consulting posts from 2014 to today, I started to understand a little about e-maps.
I did some and tested it with one or two fonts only. I need to find better sources.
Here some that I did.

Looking good Krikor - yup there is a lot of information to take on board.
Think I have forgotten everything I did know.

skinnyhouse, really many good S-Maps on this forum. Even yours from post #48 served as inspiration for some that I created (the SK3 that I am providing in the attachment was one of them).skinnyhouse wrote: ↑28 Oct 2020, 09:02Looking good Krikor - yup there is a lot of information to take on board.

I attached 13 emaps and a linkable PDF, which displays text samples (higher resolution) for each of the 13 emaps in the attachment.
