Copy-catting an effect.

After reading this question on reddit.
Here's my effort using multi-threshold (G'MIC) and replacing the colors to match the 2nd image in example.

another try by desaturating soldier, turned to indexed mode with 6 colors then replaced colors with the colors from 2nd image in question mentioned and added a darker purple tone.

Color-wise pretty good, it's very hard to copycat a vector style like the originals using only filters.
I just made a cut-out of the soldier, will post if I get a result worth to post.
Why didn't you do the Porsche plate with the mike-license-plate.py?

Should figure out a good way to create black thick lines. I'm never happy with color/threshold or the edge detection filters.
But here's my retro shooter.

Animated steps from original. The weird gradient before stripes is because of gif optimization.

Very nice images, Nidhogg. I like especially the last one "RetroBlack Widow2".
