Is there a way to get average color of selection (if selection exists) or the whole of active layer.
and set it as foreground color?
I know this can be done in script.
But is there a front end function for this?
Or should I write a simple script that allows this feature?

I'm not aware of any front end function in Gimp that does this.

Yeah I thought I'd ask since it's quiet easy to do it in script so I thought maybe a front end already exists.
I'll write it tomorrow if no one mentions of a way.

actually it's simple enough to do it right now. I'll go do it right now.
