Placing objects on a canvas

Post#1 by enxio27 » 28 Sep 2019, 15:37

How do I place an object (line, shape, etc.) precisely in a given position (coordinates) on my canvas? (I would like to be able to make my own patterns.)

I just tried it.
Select None, Paste your desired content as new layer.
Then use the align tool and click on the newly pasted layer,
then select Relative to Image (drop down of align tool options).
then enter offset X and offset Y for example 50 and 100
then click Distribute Left and Distribute Top (arrows under Distribute label).

How would I do that with lines (trying to draw perfectly horizontal/vertical lines)?

Zoom in and move mouse to where you want to start drawing a line, click the 1st point (one end of line).
Then hold Shift to stretch, but if you want perfectly straight then while holding Shift, hold Ctrl as well and it'll let you draw straight lines closest to 15 degrees each ... just move around while hold Shift and Ctrl and you'll see...
then move to 2nd point and click....and boom there's a straight line
