Photoshop Composition Challenge

I noticed this topic here on reddit
According to the user, they just want it to look realistic like the plane is actually over the background.

I called it a Photoshop Challenge (because the verb Photoshop seems like common verb now, we're actually GIMPing [but if you're a Photoshop user, feel free to join just indicate that you've used Photoshop so we know, Personally, I think GIMPers can learn a few tricks here and there from Photoshop users and vice versa])
but feel free to refer to it as GIMP Challenge (as I am sure GIMP is a verb too just not as commonly used).

Let's make this challenge fun, submit your results (source images found on reddit link above). There's no reward/voting for this challenge (just for fun).

I'll go try to cut out the plane now and submit my version. I am also thinking of changing the lighting somehow to match the plane to the sky.

If you wish to manually cut out the plane, you can, or you use the below file (with selection of the plane selected) and just focus on your effects to make your composition look real.

Here's a quote from reddituser after seeing this challenge:
"Hey thank you very much! Really great results and pointers. I also noticed the challenge you started, which is great, I am curious if others will participate.
In case they do, and there is a need for different shots of the airplane, here are a few that would love to see GIMPed:

I suspect that these may be more challenging, but I thought it could be of interest nonetheless. I will keep following the PS comp challenge.

thanks!
"

Here's the 2nd one's selection.

selection of 2nd view of plane made while viewing at 400% not feathered (I got the holed area this time which I forgot in the first one) You'll have to do your own selection to play the the glass part of jet

As a side note.
The plain/jet.
Is a photo taken of a plastic model.
The shadows on the plain in the photo, do not correspond with a plain that is actually flying in the sky.

yeah? Get it as close as you can with whatever effects. I can't tell the difference between the shadows of plane and shadow of sky.
Or maybe use a different sky.

Steps applied.
Feather selection of plane 2px.
Paste it over sky as new layer.
Scaled plane to fit on sky.
Color balance and make shadows, midtones and highlights slightly blue-er.
Lower contrast and upped brightness of plane layer.
Merge down plane layer onto sky.
Increased contrast of whole image.

This one I tried to find background that is similar in angle and shadows.

Another one (this one I tried to match contrast of plane to background and then increased contrast on combined result):

Thought I might join the 'challenge' too - both using photos I took, with the first flying low in the Norwegian Fjords and the second is late afternoon over the 'red centre' (desert) of Australia.
